West Kingston Jamboree 2015 Brought Joy To The masses At Tivoli Gardens

The people of west Kingston had much to cheer about as Liv Up Records' West Kingston Jamboree brought joy to the masses at Tivoli Gardens last Sunday.
From little-known acts such as Hylite, Brain and Lamie Rich, to Big-known acts such as Cutty CornRichie LawRas Fraser, Ratigan and Tony Frass who did a good job on stage, to heavyweights such as I Wayne, Chronixx and Rastafarian friends
Kabaka Pyramid and Jesse Royal, it was very enjoyable show.
There was much excitement as Kabaka Pyramid lifted a bottle of Spurlina in the air and Chronixx moved into action a must watch
Veteran Jose Wales, was definitely a crowd. pleaser, doing lyrics from yesteryear. The connected well with the young and mature in the audience. Mr Easy has not lost any of his musical energy and pelted hits after hits such as Drive Me Crazy, Tek Weh Meself and Murder, among others.
Major Mackerel, Horace Andy, Squidly and Daddy Lizard were other veterans who graced the stage.
Desparado had a lively set. His two dancers brought a vibes to proceedings. Skully Hop was a crowd favorite he was ready to clash Gully Bop who was not present.
Ratigan and Tony Frass burned a musical fire and Cherine Anderson was her usual fiery self, especially on songs such as Haffie Come Back and Rebel.
Music is the backbone of the people of west Kingston.
Member of Parliament
Desmond McKenzie and the Leader of the Opposition Andrew Holness, as well as Olivia 'Babsy Grange, were also their to celebrate with them.

R&B And Jazz Singer, Natalie Cole Dies AT Aged 65

The Grammy-winning singer died on Thursday night at a hospital in Los Angeles, her publicist told the Associated Press news agency.

Maureen O’Connor, a spokeswoman for Ms. Cole, confirmed her death without giving a cause, according to The Associated Press. Ms. Cole had undergone a kidney transplant in 2009 and had suffered from other ailments recently, forcing the cancellation of a series of tour dates in November and December.

Ms. Cole — who was raised around jazz royalty in the company of her father and her mother, Maria Hawkins Cole, a singer who worked with Duke Ellington and Count Basie — came into her own as a singer in the 1970s by staking out her own territory in R&B. Her first album, “Inseparable,” in 1975, won two Grammys, and “Sophisticated Lady,” on a follow-up album the next year, won another.

Ms. Cole’s reputation declined for several years, partly because of struggles with drug addiction. But she came back, creating the biggest hit of her career by uniting, at least in the studio, with the legacy and voice of her father, singing along with him on a recording of his standard “Unforgettable” and winning several Grammys in 1991.
"Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived... with dignity, strength and honour. Our beloved mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain unforgettable in our hearts forever,'' said a statement from her son Robert Yancy, and sisters, Timolin and Casey Cole, AP reported.

"I know we all have something in common", states Thriller U. "I have not come out with a song for a long time now and this is a song for you all. This song has the potential to be #1 on the Billboard Charts, and I am not talking the reggae charts!!!

Love is the strongest and the most magical of all emotions that we have the ability to experience. But no one will truly hang out with or date someone if there is nothing in common. maybe when people date older and marry older in life, there might be less concern for this. but in the prime years, it is of utmost importance.

DADDY GIRL LOVE GANGSTA SAID MAJOR MACKEREL

Recording Artiste Major Mackerel in his latest single produce by Digitalize Records
entitle "Gangsta Love" is one we all can relate to

Many people seem to think that besides financially well-off men, women are deeply attracted to both thugs and gangsters. It seems that the conventional wisdom is that women are attracted to "Thugs", but despise so-called "nice guys". Why is it that women seem to be so attracted to Thugs and Ganster?

The fact that women are attracted to Thugs and dangerous Gangster is a fact that cannot be denied. As a matter of fact, some of the world's most dangerous Gangster, such as Al Capone, Pablo Escobar or Ted Bundy, always seemed to attract the most beautiful women.

The basic idea is that the bad boys can fight... This means they can protect their resources (as well as being better equipped to secure more), and protect women from "mate poachers," and also protect the children from "offspring killers."

There is no general rule, though, so the basic premise is incredibly flawed. Women (like men) like confidence, ability, and intelligence, as well as good health and genes. There is also something to be said about the male who "stands out" from the crowd... Who is different... who makes an impression... which plays partly into the concept being put forward that bad boys are better liked.

Joey Brooks Determined To Prove The Naysayers Wrong

BEING the younger sister of dancehall star Mavado certainly comes with its fair share of pressure, but fledgling singjay Joey Brooks is equal to task. "If I don't take myself seriously as an artiste, people will not take me seriously.

There are some who may be saying: 'She is doing this as a hobby because her brother made it big in the music industry, she's trying a thing'," she told the Jamaica Observer. She is, however, determined to prove the naysayers wrong with her upcoming single See It Clear. Written by Michael 'Askell' Fairman and Melissa Stewart, the single will be released in December on the United Kingdom-based Live MB Music Production label and 21st Hapilos is slated to do the distribution.

According to Brooks, See It Clear tackles social injustice which is prevalent in society. "In the song, I deal with poor people needing a voice, Jamaican injustice system, and the corrupt politicians neglecting our needs," said the 29-year-old. An accompanying video will also be shot. The sing-jay, who holds a diploma in nursing, described her style as "software" and said her scope is wider than that of dancehall.

"Well, my style of music is what I call software. I'm into reggae, pop and R&B music. I still have a love for dancehall music, but I do not consider myself a dancehall artiste," she said. Born in the Cassava Piece community of Kingston, she is youngest and only daughter of seven for the Brooks brood. "I had always love music, ever since I started singing on the church junior choir as a child from eight until 17 years old, so music was always around me.

Then I am always tagging along with my brother (Mavado) from age of 14 to different studios, so there I even got more inspired to be part of the music industry," she said. Brooks got her break in 2009 with Heart Beat and has subsequently released Whatever You Want and Serenity. She is booked for a New Year's Eve stage show in Grenada. "I hope to be a household name in the music one day like my brother. I'm very proud and motivated by him. I'm bringing positive, yet clean sexy music to people around the world," she added.
