Denatra raised and resides in the parish of St Elizabeth Jamaica. his father, who played the saxophone, was a strong influence in his musical interest. which inspired him to create a guitar out of a bamboo tree.

At the age of eleven, he wrote his first song, and at twelve, he began to sing in the family church which caught the attention of the congregation. It was at this time he discovered he had a unique singing voice and different churches in the area would have him sing during the service as a guest soloist. His parents, unfortunately, could not afford school fees Poverty created educational barriers for Denatra

This tragic event has become the biggest influence in writing the heartfelt lyrics he brings to the world despite a lot of obstacles he didn't give up, Denatra now continues on a new path working along with **Betty Luv** who continue to support, encourage, inspire, and show him ways on how to educate himself.

In January 2019 he releases a gospel track worldwide titled Use Me under Betty Luv Entertainment distributed by Cd Baby also his 8 track EP was released in June of the same year, Which can be found on all major digital platforms such as Itunes, Spotify, Apple Music and More. Singjay A'mari Show Kindness To Families In Need

Singjay and Social media personnel Veneice Fung-Chung best known as A'mari is showing that a little kindness can go a far way during the battle against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Through her social media handles, she offered to help the elderly, but she was flooded with requests from other people as well. To date, she has given away more than US$2,000.

“I have not stopped the mission and have been giving away lots of money to families in need in Jamaica and abroad. I have helped the elderly in Jamaica and struggling families by sending small sums through MoneyGram. I gave money to a woman struggling with breast cancer, I've sent Amazon cards to families who lost their jobs in New York and can't help their families. I have sent money to Jamaican families who have no pampers, no baby feeding. I even helped someone in Grenada,” she said.

“But mostly, I do counseling. They feel helpless; they're out of jobs, a lot of them are embarrassed to be asking, some of them are middle-class people whose financial worlds have crumbled because of this situation. They know I know what it is like to suffer, so they feel comfortable to share their situations with me.”
So far, Jamaica has 58 confirmed cases with three deaths.

“At a time of so much fear and uncertainty, these acts of kindness — for those committing and receiving them — are a desperately needed balm. I see that others are following my example; we are all one,” she said.
The blogger-cum-artiste recently provided phone cards to students through her A'mari's Net4Kids initiative.
A'mari has recorded songs including Cheater Girls featuring Gully Bop and Black Hypocrisy.

Jamaicans encouraged to take climate change seriously

November 26, 2020

Minister of Housing, Urban Renewal, Environment and Climate Change, Pearnel Charles Jr., is appealing for citizens to take climate change more seriously and support the Government’s mitigation efforts.

“Climate change is a challenge that requires a whole-of-society approach. Public, private and civil society actors must play a serious role to attain the future we want for our country – a low-carbon and climate-resilient society,” he said.

Minister Charles Jr. was speaking at the virtual launch of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Civil Society Organisation (CSO) project held recently at Jamaica House.

The project, valued at more than US$1.2 million, aims to strengthen the CSO’s role in supporting the Government’s action on climate change at the community level.

This will be undertaken by enhancing CSO engagement, scaling up innovative climate change solutions among CSOs, building their capacity to access and deliver climate finance, and strengthening the GCF project pipeline by integrating CSO-led/co-led climate change interventions.

Seven Caribbean countries will benefit from the undertaking – Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Suriname, with the Climate Change Division in the Ministry being the lead national designated authority.

The Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) is the implementing entity and delivery partner for the project.

Minister Charles Jr. welcomed the project, which, he noted, is being launched at a time when the nation is marking 25 years of climate action.

“It is through co-led climate change projects like this that the country seeks to continuously address climate change at every level,” he noted.

On November 12, the Minister announced that a multisectoral task force will be established by the Ministry to support and advance the country’s development agenda and to ensure that climate change adaptation efforts are sustainable.
