It was the time when persons were dying, and she was always there giving the patients oxygen and just caring for them, and then she got the virus and the oxygen had run out, and she passed away. It then dawned on me how short and precious life was, and that we should just go for what we want."

"We live in a country where the crime rate is climbing daily, said Toogosnay in a recent interview a place where not even the elderly or the women and children are safe any more. Pedophiles are all over the place kidnapping little girls and sexually molesting them. Jamaica needs a spiritual healing, and I believe that every artiste in this country has a role to play in saving the country," he said.

He continued, "I'm calling on all of my colleagues in the music industry who are singing songs that are promoting violence and promiscuity, to turn a new page and start recording songs with positive messages. I know some people will say I sound simplistic, but the music has a great influence on the mind of the people. So, we need to make music that inspire them to do the right things."

Many students did not have adequate footwear for school,” he said “We had initially planned to purchase the shoes overseas, but thought it would be better to support the local economy. That’s when we began searching for a local retailer and ended up choosing Sammy’s Shoe Store”. He also said Crescent Primary School is badly in need of desks for its students.

the midst of the 2020 pandemic, the Philadelphia-based Nyah Bless Music remains vigilant in the production of positive music. Teaming with longtime business partner, Jam Roc Productions, the focus shifted to Afrika resulting in another gem “Mama  Afrika”.  creating a buzz on "Sweet Riddim Radio"played by Betty luv and can be heard on www.purevybzradio.org with Dj Red Lion also Iriefm.net and Suncity104.9fm and Roots fm 96.1 

Produced by Hopeton Brown and Franz  Richards, the album is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and on all major digital platforms. He said I have to give credit to Junior Jam Roc who was very instrumental in bringing Rastavoice Productions,  Digiwaxx, and Irish and Chin to the team.

Rastavoice Productions, alongside Junior “Jam Roc” Lyn penned and produced five tracks on  the album. Black Dillinger from the rough ghettos of Cape Town, South Afrika sings “Afrikan  People”, Prince Osito from Nigeria follows with “Afrikan Child” and Rebellion the Recaller, the  internationally known artiste from Gambia continues to break down barrier of Race and  Religion with the track “Woman” Two female artists, Marga Mbande, of Equatorial Guinean  descent and Charli Fletcher, United Kingdom are also featured. Jamaica, the birthplace of reggae music, is well represented on the album. Leading the charge  is Karamanti with a powerful and riveting track “Stand” pushing back against principalities,  powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Natty King, the Man from the East is all  about “Powers” and the original teacher “Teacha Dee” has places to go and things to do with  his rendition of “Train Delay”. 

The album is a great mixture of cultural reggae and solid lyrical content promoting positive  awareness, Question Asking and Revolution by JR Blessington and Greg Roy respectively.  Every artiste has their own specific style and perform superbly on the rhythm. The project also  features Obibini Blackdin, Ghana, Blessed San, Uganda; Avalanche and City Lock from  Jamaica, and several Jamaican artists based overseas, Milton Blake, and Iam Malakhi.

Bunny Wailer died on March 2 at the age of 73

The legendary icon, whose real name was Neville Livingston, had an illustrious career that spanned at least seven decades. He was the last surviving member of the original Wailers that included Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

The legendary iconic singer died at the Medical Associates Hospital in Kingston on March 2. He was 73. Up until that time, Bunny Wailer was the lone front-line surviving member of the iconic group, Wailers, and has long been a stand-out figure on both local and international reggae stages.

Born in 1947, ‘Jah B’ was a singer, songwriter and percussionist, who, along with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, were members of the Wailers.

A three-time Grammy award winner, he is considered one of the long-time standard-bearers of reggae music.

In 2017, he was conferred with the Order of Merit (OM), the fourth-highest honour in Jamaica, for his contribution to popular music.

Reggae Singer Frederick 'Toots' Hibbert has died At age 77

Toots, a three-time winner of the Jamaica Festival Song competition, was one of the 10 finalists for 2020 and spoke with pride in an interview with The Gleaner in August about his entry, Rise Up Jamaicans.

Just over a week ago, the prolific hitmaker, who has been in the business for close to six decades, released his latest album, Got To Be Tough, on the Trojan Jamaica label.

He passed away on Friday at the University Hospital of the West Indies at the age of 77. Toots had been in a medically induced Coma.

On Tuesday, former Culture Minister Olivia Grange appealed for blood for the Jamaica icon.

David Shields, better known as Minister Denatra is a Jamaican roots reggae artist, gospel musician, singer, songwriter, and minister an outstanding and gifted artist who has an extremely unique style, which many can say is a cross over roots reggae, gospel, and urban blend. Denatra raised and resides in the parish of St Elizabeth Jamaica. his father, who played the saxophone, was a strong influence in his musical interest. which inspired him to create a guitar out of a bamboo tree.

At the age of eleven, he wrote his first song, and at twelve, he began to sing in the family church which caught the attention of the congregation. It was at this time he discovered he had a unique singing voice and different churches in the area would have him sing during the service as a guest soloist. By the age of fifteen, he learned to play the guitar, one of several instruments he has mastered.
